About Momtaz Nahar

Hi my name is Momtaz Nahar and I am an 18 year old Muslim girl who is a freshman at Wayne State University. I plan on graduating with a major in Chemistry and a future in medical school. I am the oldest in my family and the first generation in my family to go to college. In addition, I am also the first in my family to graduate high school. I am a very outgoing person that is not scared to speak her mind. I love challenges because that motivates me to excel in whatever I may be doing. Also, I am a very passionate person when it comes to religion, family, friends, and school. I am the kind of person that you would find helping someone with their homework even though I may have homework due too. It brings joy to me when I know I made someone’s day or helped eased someone’s pain and distress. This is why I want to become a Pediatrician in the future since I absolutely adore children and want to help them when they are sick. To become a doctor it is going to be a lot of hard work and this is why I strive to do my best in school and in whatever I do.
I don’t shy away from any challenges but in contrast I welcome them because I know this way I will become a stronger person. Therefore, in school, when I was required of mastering many skills, I tried my best to learn the material accurately and to not only be book-smart but also have a sense of practicality. For instance, when it comes to writing I have been exposed to many types of genres which have helped me become an excellent writer and have opened my eyes to many different writing styles. For example, in senior year of high school I had to complete a senior project that consisted of writing a 17 to 20 page paper on a prominent writer and surprisingly I ended up writing 25 pages for the project on Joyce Carol Oates. I wrote the paper on two of her books and the reason that I was able to write so many pages was because both of her books were on family and I get passionate when it comes to family and its unique connection. I felt very good after writing the most amount of pages I have ever written for an essay.
In college I am discovering numerous other writing skills that range from learning how to use rhetorical devices to learning how to write persuasively. I never knew that there were so many other devices or aspects to writing. I believe that learning all these new devices is very beneficial and will help me become a more studious and well-rounded person. Writing rhetorically was a struggle because it consists of many devices and one would have to know these devices well in order to use them. Writing persuasively allows for one to sharpen their writing ability and to be able to get others interested in their writing. For instance, when I wrote a paper on advertisement I focused on how advertisement brainwashes people into buying many unnecessary things. I researched many advertising companies but I focused on one company which was Cover-Girl. I expressed my view on how the company Cover-Girl uses vibrant words, music, and famous celebrities to make people purchase their products. Doing these kinds of writings is effective because it helps one look at things more differently and pick out things that may not have before. Writing enables one to think with an open mind.
Writing is very important and we should all try to learn all the many aspects to it since it can be very helpful. This way a person can be more successful in their efforts of changing someone’s view on something. Writing is something that I care for doing because it brings out my personality and allows me to write what I feel about things without having to worry about offending anyone directly. It allows me to express my feelings openly and freely and not only that, but it also allows me to show the real me. This is helpful because I may not always be able to speak my mind. In addition, writing can be very relaxing since there are almost always no boundaries with one expressing their insight about a certain thing. I have been writing all my life and there are many topics that I have written about that range from what we eat to how the universe works. In this blog of mine I will explain the Illuminati and how they are trying to brainwash people’s minds and take over. It is very interesting and it will allow for you to learn about something that you may have no idea about or may already have an opinion on.
